Our People

Melissa Milne

Melissa was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2007, after completing a Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Laws at Monash University in Victoria. Melissa practised in Victoria until she moved to Perth in 2010.

Over the course of her career, Melissa has practised in most areas of law, including Family Law, Wills and Estates and Property Law. Melissa now practises exclusively in Family Law, using her past experience and knowledge to bring value to her clients.

Melissa has an avid interest in child relocation matters and high conflict parenting, as well as property settlement matters. Melissa is driven to assist and represent her clients with empathy and compassion, and applies a common sense approach to negotiations and communication.

When Melissa is not assisting her clients, she can be found, quite literally, chasing after her husband and two young boys on their next big “adventure”, whether it be on the way to school, at the local pump track or along the WA coastline.

In her “spare” time, Melissa enjoys giving back to the community. In her current role as President of her local playgroup committee, Melissa liases with parents, members, Playgroup WA and the local council to obtain funding and bring about changes in sustainability and early childhood educational experiences for children aged 0 to 5 years in her local community, something that she is passionate about since having children.

Melissa’s role at West Family Lawyers allows her to juggle all of these competing interests, with a metaphorical cape on her back and smile on her face.
